“Am I too old to learn to pole dance or do aerial?”
You are never too old! People of all ages and fitness levels can enjoy and benefit from pole and aerial.
Here are some of many key benefits :
Fitness and Flexibility: Pole dancing is a great way to improve your strength, flexibility, and overall fitness. Many people start as complete beginners and make significant progress over time.

“What age do I have to be to attend a class?”
Our minimum age to attend classes and courses is 18 years old.
“How do I find you?”
We can be found in Hackney, London, UK! Our address is The Pole Nook, ARTHAUS, 203 Richmond Rd, London E8 3NJ.
The nearest train stations are London Fields and Hackney Central.
“Do you have to book or can I walk in?”
You will need to book a class or session on our booking system before being able to attend.
“What happens if I am running late?”
There is a 5 minute grace period for running late, we understand the London traffic and tubes can cause issues! However it is vital you are able to take part in the warm up for health and safety reasons as this is integral to avoid risk of injury.
“Do I need to be strong or fit to start?”
No, beginners don’t need to have prior strength or fitness or any experience in any kind of physical activities. Pole dancing itself helps build strength and fitness over time.
“What should I wear?”
We want you to be comfortable so the most important thing to wear is something you feel happy in. For pole classes you may need skin grip so it is advised to wear shorts and a vest top/T-shirt or sports bra. We are more than happy for you to wear a turtle onesie but you may find your training easier in sportswear. Please remove all jewellery as it damages the poles.
For aerial hoop and chains its a little different, we recommend covered clothing for these disciplines - leggings and t shirt is just fine!
For photo shoots you are encouraged to be as flamboyant and outrageous as possible, we love all your ideas! However it is important that you are safe we don’t want your outfit to cause you injury, it’s not worth it just for a photo, so please ensure your costume is suitable to pole in. If you are planning to use body paint please check it with us first.
“Do I need special shoes?”
Beginners typically start barefoot. As you progress, you might want to try pole dancing heels, but they are not necessary initially. We even have a course for people looking to explore the heels side of pole called “Sexy Essentials.”
“I have a disability can I still come to a class?”
Get in touch with us directly so we can chat about how we can suitably accommodate you, we want everyone to feel welcome and have the chance train in our studio so we will do everything we can to make classes and photo shoots accessible for you.
“Is pole dancing/aerial safe?”
Yes, with proper instruction and safety measures, pole dancing and aerial are both safe. Always follow your instructor’s guidance and don’t push yourself too hard too quickly and listen to your body. Our instructors are highly qualified and experienced in the industry, rest assured they are capable and your safety is always the first priority! Feel free to contact us directly if you have any concerns.
